TERM 4 - Swimming Program

The school swimming program is changing its format for term 4. Instead of swimming on alternate weeks, it has been decided to have a 4 week continuous block (commencing in week 2). We feel that it will help with children remembering their swimming gear, and we hope that children will be able to consolidate the aquatic skills they have experienced if the sessions are more condensed. The classroom teacher will inform you of your child’s swimming sessions closer to the time.
If there has been a change to your child’s medical information that would affect their participation in the program, could you please notify the class teacher.

Children are required to bring togs, sun shirt, towel and swimming cap (compulsory) to each lesson. To assist with getting lost property back to rightful owners, can you please name all clothing and equipment. Goggles are encouraged, but not compulsory. If a child cannot swim due to a medical reason, a note must be supplied.
Swimming is one of the most important life skills anyone can acquire. It leads to a lifetime of fun, with the Australian lifestyle connected to activities on or near water. It can also save a life. One drowning death is one too many. At Labrador State School we expose our students to water confidence and learn to swim skills, building to stroke correction and survival strokes.
Looking forward to another fantastic swimming term.
