Prep

Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. From 2017, it is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools.

Children attend Monday-Friday, generally from 9am-3pm.

Children must be 5 by 30 June in the year they enrol. Check the table below to see when your child can start Prep.

PREP Information for students enrolling 2017
Welcome to Labrador State School and thank you for considering enrolment of your child with our school for Prep.

Please see the related links section on the right of this page to check if
·        your child's age is correct for starting Prep and
·        you live within our catchment area

How and when can I enroll?
Enrolment application packages are available from office.  As per Education Queensland requirements proof of age such as an original birth certificate or passport must be sighted by an Administration Officer when submitting your enrolment forms.  You will also need two documents to prove your residential address. If you are unable to provide the documents requested we will not be able to accept the application unfortunately.
There is currently no requirement to produce vaccination records.

My child has some special needs or requirements.  What should I do?
If your child has specific concerns please call the office to schedule an appointment with the Deputy Principal to discuss their needs further -  phone 07 5665 0333.

When can my child visit the school?
We will hold a Prep Experience morning during Term 4. You will be advised of the date for your child to attend with you.  A text message and email will be sent out to you to inform you of your day to visit.

Please ensure to return your enrolment form as soon as possible (before end of October) so we have your contact details.

If you are enrolling after this date or do not know your date for Prep Experience morning, please contact the office for further information.
