A local state school is a primary school which is
closest to a student’s principal place of residence. Enrolment at Labrador
State School is reliant on residency inside a defined boundary area called the
local catchment area. Please use the EdMap link to clarify whether
your residential address is within our catchment area or a neighbouring
school’s catchment.
When submitting your enrolment application, please complete our Enrolment Forms. In addition, you will also require:
- Student’s birth certificate
- Evidence to prove
residency:
- If an owner this needs to be a rates notice
- If a new land purchaser/house
purchaser – A copy of your signed contract and a Statutory Declaration
stating that you will be a occupying the house for a minimum of 6 months
- If a renter – A copy of your signed lease agreement which
must be for a period of 6 months minimum
- If residing with family or friends – A Statutory Declaration from the parent stating that you will be occupying the residence with your student, and a Statutory Declaration from the home owner confirming your occupancy, both signed by a Justice of the Peace
- If you have any other living
situations please enquire as to the required proof of
residency
If you do not reside within the Labrador State School catchment area but are interested in enrolling your student, in addition to the above forms you must also submit a formal letter addressed to the Principal outlining your reasons for wanting to attend the school.
Enrolling students will be invited to interview with the Deputy to discuss a tailored transition into the school year.
