The P&C Association of Labrador State School are proud to be able to extend to you the opportunity to take advantage of the Student Resource Scheme (SRS). The scheme has been implemented to ensure that all students have the necessary resources to support their educational requirements.  It is a voluntary scheme that is intended to provide a cost-effective option for parents through discounted prices gained from the school's bulk purchasing arrangements.

The SRS is a one-off payment invoiced annually at the commencement of the school year. Payment is due in full by April 1st.

The cost of the SRS is $85.

The scheme will supply students with access to:

  • Class sets of general reading books including prescribed novels
  • Equipment hire – digital cameras (still/video), audio visual equipment, a wide range of industry standard software
  • Use of equipment, consumable materials and photocopies for a range of subjects across all year levels
  • Printed worksheets/handouts/notes and equipment prepared by teachers
  • Audio and video recordings
  • Materials for subjects where the instruction is extended through providing practical learning experiences in excess of materials provided by school grants
  • Equipment use - musical instruments, sports equipment, art materials, etc.
  • Software site licenses for school and home use

The following items are NOT covered by the Student Resource Scheme:

  • iPads/BYO Devices
  • Interschool sport activities and equipment
  • Stationary
  • School activities and non-curricular events, such as excursions, camps, discos, themed-dress days, etc. Individual payments can be made for these activities as they occur.

What is provided by the Queensland Government?

The Queensland Government supports children's education by providing funding for instruction (teachers), facilities (school grounds and buildings, internet), and administration (staff to run the school). Funding for schools does not extend to individual student resources such as textbooks, equipment for personal use, and many items used by the student in the classroom.

It is the responsibility of the parent to provide their student with adequate individual resources to complete their studies.

Non-Participation

If you are not satisfied that the SRS fee represents good value for money based on the inclusions, you may choose not to participate in the SRS. If that is the case, please complete a new Participation Agreement Form, indicating that you no longer wish to participate. If you choose not to participate, you will be provided with a detailed list of resources that you will be required to provide for your student.
