Student Council is a student body made up of a representatives voted in by peers from each class in Years 3 to 6, includig school captains. Students have the opportunity to nominate themselves and vote for their elected student body. It is a great way for students to get involved in the school community, and to have a direct impact on what matters most to them.

Student Council works closely with the P&C and are responsible for organising student-focused events, raising money for projects, charity events, media team and promoting culture within our school. Some of our Student Council successes include Labrador's Got Talent, Containers for Change, themed dress days, School Discos, Friendship Week, Harmony Week, Day for Daniel, raising money for charities, creating the media team, and supporting projects to improve our school.

Labrador's Got Talent

Labrador's Got Talent is our talent show hosted annually for students of all ages. Singers, dancers, and an ecletic range of performers audition to show off their incredible abilities. The community is invited to watch an evening of performances at our talent show in Term 3. Tickets are available for purchase through the Qkr! app only.

Containers for Change

Student Council is involved in organising our Containers for Change initiative. This sustainability program challenges students to be conscious of their waste choices, and encourages recycling. All funds raised through the program are used towards the end of year student graduation gift.

Harmony Week

Harmony Week is a celebration that recognises diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. Students wear orange and decorate their classrooms to promote a sense of belonging in the school community.

School Disco

School Discos are held at the end in Terms 1, 2 and 4. Tickets are available for purchase through the Qkr! app, or at the front door. Details on times and themes are released closer to event date.

Day for Daniel

Day for Daniel is an initiative by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, to start a conversation with young people about personal safety. Students are encouraged to wear red clothing for a day to raise awareness. All proceeds go towards the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, to develop free resources and programs for parents, carers, and educators, and to support young victims of crime.

We also celebrate R U OK? Day, Science Fair, Book Week, and other great community events.
